Ultramammoth
I'm just a one-man band recording music for nothing but my own enjoyment.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
1992 - 1993: Drummer and vocalist for high school band, Scurrilous Barnyard.
1993 - 1994: One half of the acoustic guitar duo, The Oxters.
1995 - 2003: I went solo and pottered about with lots of very lo-fi home recordings (mostly acoustic stuff).
2003 - Present Day: I got myself a PC, some recording equipment, some more instruments and created Ultramammoth. This is what you hear on this site.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
No. I just play and record at home for personal enjoyment.
Your musical influences
For the music on here, mostly heavy metal. However, I enjoy playing all sorts of genres.
Bands? Well some of the songs on here are influenced by bands like Entombed, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pungent Stench, SOD, Down, COC, Carcass, Cathedral and Anthrax.
However, I'm otherwise influenced by things like Beck, Primus, Jethro Tull, They Might Be Giants, Mountain, Donovan, Deep Purple and Elvis.
What equipment do you use?
This is my current set-up:
Shure SM-57's and CAD KBM412 (kick drum)
Behringer UB1204-PRO
Delta 44 soundcard
n-Track
Anything else?
This is all for personal pleasure (and with no small amount of tongue-in-cheek) so if you like it, that's great. If you don't, I won't lose much sleep.
However, constructive criticism or advice is welcomed - particularly on recording quality.
I just stick up songs on here to let friends hear them really and anyone else that likes it is a bonus.
