Biography
Jacoby Tyroneus Pender was born January 4th, 1983, in rurally located Port Angeles, Washington amongst a family of musicians. His father, mother and two older brothers all had pursued professional careers in music, creating a huge musical influence throughout his childhood.
I grew up being able to stumble out to the studio in our garage and listen to one of the bands playing Funk, Jazz, Blues, Hip Hop or Rock. You take your pick.
Its no wonder that already by the age 16, Rone had published his first self-produced album REAL within the Northwest underground Hip Hop scene.
I really wasnt thinking about producing an album. I was just doing what I always had done when I needed to vent and that was music.
REAL, first released in 2000, began as a series of songs written and recorded without any basis other than the natural venting of the pressures of Tyroneus as a musician in his teens. However, as he began selling the album as a completed release to his High School peers, he began to realize the power of music.
My friends sold them for fun. By the end of the first week I must have made about a grand. They just kept bringing back the money, and it blew my mind.
However, as the music spread, so did the-then controversial lyrics, which affected many parents in the otherwise lackadaisical town of Port Angeles as being beyond the edge of offensive. In a month, the administration of the High School disallowed playing of the music, censored or uncensored, on campus and the sales slowed.
My music is what Im about. Im not changing it for anything. I didnt decide to name the album REAL because it was FAKE.
In April of 2002 Tyroneus released his first official album, Below Tha Belt, which was mainly a local release. The album once again showed that Tyroneus talent would be ever evolving, as the tracks increased and the quality was once again exceptionally produced for the Northwest underground scene. The concert brought into the hundreds, the majority of his fan-base, proving his hometown-fans were here to stay.
Times have changed for Rone since then, and his talent and skills as a Hip Hop producer, lyricist, and CEO have since-then elevated. Rone now runs an independent production label, GameRunnaZ Records, taking on new talent with a strategic mission objective: to find success for his label in an industry where success is rare.Have you performed in front of an audience?"Yeah, I been playing live since I was eighteen wherever I could. The first show I did, our label held on our own. That was a good way to start it all off."
Your musical influences
My production is pretty vast. Teddy Pendergrass, The Crusaders, Leroy Hudson, Pleasure to Alex Bugnon, Marcus Miller to Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, and quite a few others I grew up on.
As for MC's I'm influence by Biggie, Jay Z, Nas, The Lox, and most great lyricists of today.Another North West Native yeeeeeeaaaaahhh!
