Well, lets start with a summary of the guys playing in Twiggy
MacBeer: Downstroke maniac, vocal style pretty much like James Hetfield, who also is his biggest influence.
Broke: As his nick suggests, never has a lot of money. Fulltime student since birth, only needs 10 minutes to come up with a great riff or shredding solo.
R0m0: Lives on Red Bull, therefore is always very energetic on stage. Used to play in a symphonic rock/metal band but changed his religion to punkrock.
CasB: Fast and loud, but not in bed. Still hasnt matured yet, can laugh about poo and pee.
Right, thats that. Now, lets focus on Twiggy as a band. Style? Sweetlake Skatecore, influenced by bands like Bad Religion, Rise Against, Bigwig, Bambix, Slayer and ofcourse: Milli Vanilli. Founded in the dark ages of 2001, Twiggy has come a long way, music-wise. From 3-chord-punk to more melodic punkrock to fast melodic kick ass skatecore, and even some sing-a-longs, what do you want more?!?! Attitude? Positive, straight in your face, and trying to send some sort of message while not forcing to choose sides, but always having fun.
Some of Twiggys highlights are playing on the main stage of the Boerderij (Zoetermeer) at the Packstock festival, recording and releasing the demo (june 2007), and getting one of our songs played on the radio to 3000-4000 listeners. Played with bands like Sidekickbob, Last Breath Denied, Bound in Blood, Xenobia, Owen Meany and Urine-Sane. As weve just started, many, many highlights are still to come.
