Twenty To One

Twenty To one is a 5 piece punk/melodic hardcore band originally out of pepperell mass but members reach all the way to New Ipsqich NH. We started out back in the spring of 2003 and played our first show with the legendary Jonee Earthquake at Club Euphoria In hudson NH. We have played numerous shows ranging from norhtern NH to southern CT and plan to tour over the summer. Our 4 track demo released back in october "Nadsat Violence" sold about 100 copies and Our longly anticipated full length "Suburban Battlecry" has beed recorded and released within the next few weeks.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
wenty To One is a mid level street punk band based out of pepperell MA. The band first got together in the spring of 2002 when current members Nic and Gordy descided that forming a band was a must between the good friends. They asked numerous guitar players to join the duo but nobody really seemed to fit. Billy and Gordy, good friends from childhood, had been basic enemies for the past few years but when a band was in question they both descided to settle there differences and become the best friends again that they once were. Now a trio the band began to practice and find the groove we all fell into. We tried out many names like The Waiste Down Rebels and Thought Crime but none seemed to fit. Billy had come up with the name Twenty To One in referance to the Krubrick film A Clockwork Orange's tradional language of "nadsat". The band learned the songs that billy has written over the years and things started to come together great. Next came dave. Dave is a stoner that has just kind of always been around, smoking weed anb playing guitar. Dave is an amazing guitar player but just couldnt seem to match the punk rock style, we knew it, and so did he. We moved on next to George. George is an excellant guitar player now majoring in it at some fancy school. When we asked george about jamming with us it seemed like he couldnt be happier. We were terribly mistaken. George practiced with us for a few weeks and we finally were ready to play a show. Billy had somehow hooked up with the great Jonee of the Jonee Earthquake Band and he graciously gave us our first gig. Twenty to One, JEQB, Red Invasion, The knox and some others. It was a blast. Sorry to say though 2 days before that show George gave us his notice of departure and left the band and not playing the show at club euphoria with us. That saturday night show went great and we were even asked to come back the next week to play again with JHC and some others. Twenty To One went on looking for another guittarrist but kept playing shows as a trio. When along came Matt. We found Matt online somehow and he immediatly seemed interested in joining our band. Formerly of the Asshole Hellicopters, matt had the equipment and experiance he needed to, to succeed with an upcoming band. We played two shows with Matt and then he descides that the band is not for him. The style, the forty minute drive and other reasons gave him the excuse for leaving. Now Twenty To One is back as a trio and SERIOUSLY looking for another guitar player that is willing to seriously devote him/herself to a band. We have canceled our upcoming shows and will do nothing but practice and put out our full length until we are fully prepared to show the punks who we really are and what we can do, WITH a new guittarrist. I wonder how many spelling mistakes I just made?
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live as much as possible ranging from American Legion halls to small clubs and venues in the area, and love every minute of it
Your musical influences
A global Threat, Stand and Fight, Ten Yard fight, Death Threat, Punk n' Hardcore to boot
What equipment do you use?
as long as we have our shitty old gear were good to go
Anything else?
PUNK IS NOT DEAD
