Biography Tune Raiduz Empire
So many chase the dream of stardom and fame but only a few get a taste of success. And of that number, maybe one(1) percent go on to become superstars. With this fact in mind it is a wonder so many continue to chase the elusive prize of becoming the next big thing in the ?industry?. One such group comes to us from ?Gin City?, Virginia and calls themselves the Tune Raiduz Empire.
The Empire consists of Artists: singer Shawn Cannon, a neo-soul cross between Donell Jones & Musik; rappers Peekasso and Rush of Northern Southerners; rapper/ dancehall chanter Dutch Diamond who is the founder of the outfit; Producers: ?Twist?, ?50 Karat?, and ?Prophet? all coming together to form what is quickly becoming the new sound of Virginia.
T.R.E. was formed in the fall of 2003 by Karl Wilkins aka Dutch Diamond after he relocated from Brooklyn, NY to Woodbridge, Va. Being an artist and producer himself, he quickly established rapport with other fledgeling artists who had the same drive and vision he shared, collaborating on various projects and mixtapes just to get heard. All the while Dutch was carefully checking out the talent to put his team together. He picked up work at a local car dealer and there he met Ralph Kay Jr. aka (Peekasso) who introduced him to the other half of Northern Southerners, Gerard Brooks aka (Rush). Then Shawn Cannon, who was his labelmate on a now defunct Record Label, came onboard to join the team. The last addition, HD, is'nt a member of TuneRaiduz, however he is signed to the SMG label and his product is also slated for release.
By the spring of 2004, T.R.E. was fast becoming the ?It crew? getting regular airplay on mainstream radio in the Mid-Atlantic Region and receiving numerous request to perform at local events which they always obliged and always turns the party out, while all their free time was spent in the studio writing and recording new material for the now completed, soon to be released cd entitled ?We Got Nexx? which features songs from all the artists. All told, there are five(5) albums that should be completed by May, 2004: Dutch Diamond?s solo 'Spark This'; Da Street Runnuz Conekshun(DSRC)?Da Conekshun?; ?We Got Nexx? by T. R. E.; Shawn Cannon's self titled and Northern Southerners' Grind 4 Green; and Hd's 'So Good' solo. All cds are slated to be released in three (3) month intervals by Diamond?s record label- SMG Music (Smoketown Music Group) with "We Got Nexx" setting the pace.
