TUbEStAR

Blah blah blah yadda yadda goosefrabba.. Hey, I'm Tanis. I pick my nose. I have a versatile taste in music, and I have always had a passion for it. Since I was a wee boy, just knee-high to a grasshopper, I've had all sorts of tunes roaring in my head fighting for a way to be heard. It wasn't until I was 16, when I laid down my first beat on a drumset, that I became serious about becoming a full time musician. I have since self-taught myself how to play drums and other instruments, though until recently I had never actually owned my own instrument. To practice, I had to rely on my friends who owned drum sets and guitars and pianos, etc. I joined a band with a few friends, calling ourselves the Last Action Heroes. Unfortunately the band broke up less than a year later.. It was then that I decided to learn how to create electronic music on my computer. Thus, TUbEStAR. Now, 21 years old, I've created dozens upon dozens of electronic tracks and I'm ready to bring my music to a live setting. If you're reading this, I hope to see you at a show sometime 8) ----------------------- Music is a healing power. I don't believe it is all about how good someone is at their instrument. I believe, regarding musicians, that what is more relevant is how well you can use your knowledge of your instrument(s) to make good music. It's about being creative. Its about reaching out to your listeners and changing them on a personal level. And sometimes it may take patience. The world of music has endless possibilities. -----------------------
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I used to make my TUbEStAR music merely as a means of personal recreation. I never imagined I would take it to a live setting. Back in the Spring of '09, I finally started adding vocals to my songs. My friend Nick suggested doing a show. He actually really encouraged it. So I recruited him as an on-stage vocalist and we had our first practice a short time later. After playing a couple shows, we decided we needed another person to help out on stage. At an interview on a college radio station in Buffalo, I met Nick's friend Greg. We talked to him about possibly being our "DJ" for shows. He enthusiastically agreed to helping us and he certainly brings a feeling of completeness to our performances.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, my first show was on August 29, 2009 at an awesome venue called the Montage Music Hall in Rochester, NY. For live performances, my good friend Nick joins me on stage. We both do vocals and I do some stuff on the keyboard. It's a lot of fun.
