Troy Ross
I am a singer songwriter but mostly a songwriter. I write country music and play at writer's nights in Nashville, Tennssee. I have been writing since I was in High School in 1978. I have written over 400 songs over the years and try to write songs about real life that have a little depth and meaning instead of the usual fluff heard on most radio stations.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live music at writer's nights in Nashville, Tennessee and at local and church events. It's usually just me and my Takamine (guitar) on stage.
Your musical influences
My first was John Denver, I was inspired to learn guitar after hearing his songs. I started listening to country music in the late 70's when Waylon and Willie were big and was an instant fan. Alabama, Hank Jr., Garth Brooks, Montgomery Gentry and Van Zant are some of my favorites.
What equipment do you use?
Takamine guitar. Pro tools recording equipment with an AKG condenser mic and Alesis monitor speakers.
Anything else?
I'm an average singer at best but hope my songs will make up for it.
