Troof Beats
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Time for a quick bio. Troof was born Darius Turner to parents James Turner and Joelle Alerte on May 22, 1995. Since he was seven Darius always wanted to be in the music industry. He began making raps to old instrumentals he found on the internet then he began to make his own beats. He then adopted the name DJT but soon after changed it to Truf then to Troof. Troof currently uses Fruity Loops for all of his musical needs. Although Troof never had any formal musical training he has taught himself to sample many songs by ear. Troof makes beats for many genres including R&B, Hip-Hop, and Pop. Also Troof is the founder and president of Beat Maniacz Productions which is a record label he plans to expand.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I live in Jersey City, NJ.
Your musical influences
Troof has a unique sound which he is sure to place on every track he creates. His sound was inspired by many producers such as Timbaland, The Neptunes/Pharrell, and Kanye West. When he was young he would watch his father rap as uncle would scratch on a pair of Gemini turntables. This caused him to gain a deep passion for music and shortly after he began writing rhymes of his own.
What equipment do you use?
Currently Troof uses the following to make his beats and record his songs:
HP Laptop Computer
Image Line Fruity Loops 9 Demo
Casio Keyboard
M-Audio USB Midi Connecter

Sennheiser HD Headphones
