How do I calculate the beats per minute tempo of my drum loop?
1. Write down the number of beats in the loop.
2. Write down the EXACT length of the loop in seconds.
3. Divide 60 (seconds – 1 minute) by the length of the loop.
4. Multiply that result by the number of beats in your loop
Eg. The loop is 8 beats long
The loop length is 5.3 seconds
(you did use your audio editor for that, right?)
60 (one minute) divided by 5.3 = 11.32
(So the loop plays 11.32 times in one minute)
8 x 11.32 = 90.56
(8 beats in each loop, which plays 11.32 times in one minute)
The loop tempo is 90.56 bpm
(ie about 90 and a half beats play in one minute)

i dont know how to say it but i just cant get my head bobbin. you have to figure out what bpm your sample is and then match it to the drums. there is a formula or you can just do it by trial and error.
and i do use my comp for making beats/no fancy equipment
