Triple-G (NL)
Triple-G was started as a project in 2002. New talents could sign in for the project and get some more experience in performing and creating a show.
In the first half of 2004 a group of Triple-G members were asked to join a restyled formation of the band. The Project idea stopped and nowadays Triple-G has 7 members. 2 vocalists, 2 free-styledancers and 3 breakdancers.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, we love to play live. For now we have just played in The Netherlands, but it is a big dream to go to another country one day.
Not long ago we were quite close! We had to play in Hengelo (near Germany). It was a small performance for just a hand-full of people, but we and the audience had a great time. Specially on the trip tó Hengelo in our super-mini Van.
We perform in lots of different locations. The shows is best for club/underground-like locations. But in September 2004 we will also play in Highschools everymonth for hunderds of people.
Your musical influences
The music of Triple-G is spliced into two parts:
1- The live act.
As a live act Triple-G uses a very commercial sound. Songs of 3/4 minutes with great up/down climaxes. Dance/Trance and a little hiphop-sound are the mainstyles we use.
2- On our CD we are trying to make a little dance/trance-lounge style. So you can relax, lay back and enjoy the music you jumped on with a performance, in a total different way.
What equipment do you use?
I love hardware synht's (because I like to be able to touch something), but the last year I also learned to use samples on the computer too. So I make a combination of both ways.
We use a CS-6X of Yamaha and a (yesyes) Roland MC303 (it is still not dead! 303 rules!) I hardly use 303 samples, but I love the way it sequences my music.
Besides these I am also totally addicted to Cool Edit Professional. It is a studio record software that has practically no Midi-links in it, but I am used to it and I love it.
Anything else?
