Welcome to North Carolina's own, TreZure.Band/artist history
“Real and Raw!”
Every time a new female MC comes out the public is quick to categorize her. Either they say she is like Lil Kim, Eve, Lauryn Hill, or a combination of them all. Well North Carolina has a female MC that is going to break the mold and introduce a breath of fresh air to the hip hop world, and she goes by the name of TreZure. Just as her name implies her lyrics are full of jewels, gems, and pearls for your state of mind. There is no specific classification of her style because it is a blend of so many different influences. Her life is the fuel for her songs and her heart delivers the passion she invokes through her lyrics. She says, “my life has shown me so much that I must speak on the experiences I have had. Everybody has a story to tell and I am lucky enough to be able to tell mine through my music.”
TreZure started rhyming at the young age of 13 years old. “Hip Hop was a hobby of mine for a long time. I never really took it seriously until 1995. After doing several shows, battling, and performing on open mics on the radio, I realized that music was a passion of mine and I wanted to explore it more.” It did not take long for her to realize that when you actually try to pursue music as a profession, there are always dues that need to be paid. She says “I have paid a lot of dues in this game. I have been in crew after crew and nothing ever seemed to pop off. I knew I was going to have to make a move of my own if I was going to get anywhere.” And moves are what she made. In 2001, TreZure started 921 Enterprises Music and Entertainment Group. The whole reason why she started 921 Enterprises was to be able to bypass all of the shady aspects of the music industry, and finally in April of 2003 she dropped her first solo release entitled “TreZure: Chapter 1-Love Child.” “The project was a mixture of classic hip-hop and refreshing lyrics. I just wanted to get people back to what hip-hop was all about, and that is lyrical content and banging beats. I classify my music as life music. I want it to be something you can relate to,” she says. That was just a five-track E.P. though and it was released to test the waters and see if people really wanted to hear her music. Needless to say, the response was overwhelming and it cleared the way for her to start work on her full-length project. “The Trinity Album: Truth, Love, Consequences” is set to drop in the summer of 2004. “I am really excited about the new album. I was able to show my versatility and touch on a wide variety of topics. It is a huge accomplishment for me and 921 Enterprises, and I cannot wait for people to hear it.”
With that being said, TreZure’s name is already known throughout the triad, as one of the hottest female MC’s to touch the microphone. It is important for her to solidify her spot in the industry. “Right now I don’t have anything to prove to anybody. I know where I stand in the game and it is time to let the world hear what I got to say.” Nuff Said!Have you performed in front of an audience?Yeah and I love it. I love the interaction with the crowd.
