I started making beats more than 6 years ago, Mostly house, drum'n'bass, tech, some ambient also dabbled in rock/industrial, and have worked with a couple bands. But all along ive been workin on hip-hop. (its life not music) Ive taken the knowledge and experience gained from working in as many genres as I have and brought it full force into my hip hop production in the last 2 years ive kind of found my style for hip hop beats and focused exclusively on hip hop production and recording with a new style.
Anything else?
I Wrote this after seeing the KW blood diamond marketing ploy HIP HOP IS DEAD hip hop is dead, replaced by the bling and the ignorance of quick fame and money almost nobody in hip hop today can say they didnt sell out on top of that the general lack of respect within the culture...scratch that there is no culture left in hip hop i dont care who your fuckin i dont care where you party and i dont care how much your bentley cost. i love hip hop, its life not music but it used to mean something to love hip hop now it means i like designer clothes and pre packaged second rate music put together following a formula that is known to sell because god forbid we do something original that 13 year old little white kids in the suburbs wont understand and might not buy the hip hop community has gone to great lengths in the last few years to alienate the root of the art...life "thats nice (some, emcee) you grew up poor and rap about having no food on the table when you were a kid and you talk about comin up on your own with no ones help...but the little white kids your now rapping for (under contract) havent ever experienced that so it wont sell they dont understand it" so you end up with real talent doing club tracks with no meaning but thats not my point my point is as a community and culture hip hop hasnt conspicuiosly given anything back in years i mean yeah jay go the basketball program and snoop got his football but why dont these ppl with voices that are heard and listened to make some effort you aint got to rap about blood diamonds but at least do a track about shelters and food banks in the US you wanna talk about things like blood diamonds or genocide stop wearing diamonds and start talking about them not just make your track look like it had a point because of the video everyone i know that heard that track before the video thought you were either dissin someone or talking bout def jam standing forever but hip hop is dead atleast hip hop as it should be is dead there is no tribe common the roots not even really hip hop any more o and anyone with a point out there? anyway hip hop is dead and i encourage ppl to seek out underground and music that isnt on a major label (they just rip off the artist anyway) support real hip hop out of someone's bedroom the shit at the club on open mic nite thats hip hop if you love hip hop go chill puff an ell and give a dollar to the homeless dude outside the club even if you know its for a 40
