Bushido-Inspired Hip-Hop Track | Cold World by Blummer | Free Download
As I move closer and closer towards entering the "real world," I've become increasingly aware that there's so much going out there in the world, most of it bad. This song is about my coming to terms with this fact. Producted by Heat Up Entertainment.
Name: Jeremy Blum
Nicknames: Blummer, JB, JAB, Shoryu
Crew: Nerds While AZN
Nationality: Half White, Half Asian (you figure out the exact mix)
Biggest Musical Influences - Mike Shinoda, Tiger JK (of Drunken Tiger), Tablo (of Epik High)
I started rapping in 2003 years ago, mainly because I really loved hip-hop and wanted to try creating my own musical works. I quickly found out that I had a knack for it, and I also discovered that I loved making music and sharing it with the world. I originally began rapping with my crew, Nerds While AZN (if you haven't already, you should check our group site out @ soundclick.com/nerdswhileazn) but since then I've mostly done solo work and have finished three mixtapes on my own. I hope you'll enjoy my music, find something that you think sounds tight, and come away with a few favorites. Thanks.

Lyrics
Blummer - Cold World
i peer outside my window as i draw designs on the glass
pixelations of places, future and past
like a child, i sketch utopia, lush and green
wait, cross it out, it's nothing but a dream
this world of ours, it's cold beyond my doors
beyond the scribbles on the window of my second floor
with every breath i breathe, there's death in far off lands
on America, Asia, and the dunes of African sands
depression on the street, conflicts in the Middle East
air-borne disease scares, a media that refuses to cease
teen pregnancy, effigies, bourgeoisie discrepancies
with the poor, souls knocking on heaven's door
on a daily basis, as subliminal racists
tear the American flag down, can the Lord even save us
now my window designs look like jagged imprecisions
showing the imperfection of this human existence
(chorus)
it's a cold world, and it grows ever colder
life's a cycle like Sisyphus pushing his boulder
despite what they say, the cold war lives on
in this wasteland where you gotta fight to stay strong
the pain of the world, the echoes of the cries
fragments of DNA shattered by human lies
it's a cold world, it weighs heavy on one's back
as my legs walk the etchings of life's train tracks
i put my pen to paper, tryin' to focus on a rhyme
and ignore the headlines about teenage crime
clippings from stories about those who detonated the fuse
to bomb blasts in Mumbai, on the news
riots in China over rights bring critique
democracy versus communism, the future's bleak
the haves, the haves-nots, why is life never fair?
lookin' for answers, can't find 'em anywhere
yet still i try to move on, past all the wrong
and thaw out this cold with the words of a song
to make sense of all the cracks tearing the world apart
the one place to start's in the depths of my heart
so i walk through the snow, burning holes where i go
with the flames of optimism, to a place i don't know
all i know is somewhere, far above these shrouds
there's a silver lining hidden up in those clouds
(chorus)
