Story behind the song
HERE'S A SHORT STORY ABOUT THE SONG FROM BAT...
That song was written the year my kids and ex wife left Nashville to move back to Rochester. I had saved up $40 in gas money to drive north in my beat up old Datsun to see Liam and Casey for Christmas. I was crying before I left because I didn't have money to buy them a present. I picked up my guitar and "pure and simply you" was born in about 20 minutes. truly a gift from God, that one.
