Story behind the song
I came up with the intro riff, totally out of the blue, and as always, ended building the entire song on it. Convalescence means slowly nursing back from sickness to health. The song is similar. it starts out on a dark and depressive atmosphere, while towards the end sounds more melodic and full of hope in a way, sounding epic the whole time.
Ive used soundfonts to generate Ensembles,Pianos and Synths. The Thunder was taken from freesound.org. If i had to put a genre on it, i would say progressive pseudo-gothic rock/metal :P. only way it encompasses all the elements.
