My older work is mostly MIDI based, 99% composed with a mouse by clicking notes onto a digital score. My newer work is more mixed-media, including both fairly standard MIDI work as well as recorded sections from acoustic and electric instruments.

Story behind the song
I don't think I've had this much of a drum jam since writing Sporobolus. It'll probably be obvious that I ripped some ideas from that one for those that have heard it. I got stuck listening to Blue Man Group on loop for ages on a long car ride. I love the sound of their PVC instruments; I wanted to aim for something with that sort of snappy/pop yet slightly tonal sound, although all I had to work with were ethnic drum samples and synths.
