ROO
Biography
Beginning with his 1996 debut with 7-Miles/Atomic Records, ROO made it clear that he planned on surprising rap listeners with his controversial lyrics, laced with a Midwest, West coast slang and flow. Of course, the hardcore Kansas City artist steady rise towards continued popularity increased year by year, with an album being released nearly every year following his jaw-dropping debut. With album titles such as Alcoholic By Instinct & Other CD’S with 7 miles and three Mix tape CD’S ROO quickly attained a cult following, similar to the small legions of listeners swarming perverse rappers such as Mac Dre(r.i.p.), Rappin Twan, A roc, Twigg, Big Hamm, Rich the Factor, Tech N9ne, and Messy Marv. Yet as ROO began to mature as an artist, he moved away from exploitative themes, though he still ranked among the Midwest’s most extreme hardcore rappers, continuing his climb to recognition.
