Lyrics
Not 5 years ago
Sitting in my back yard,
Talking about things like who we are
And walking on a sandy beach
I wondered what you seen in me
Wishing I could take you home
Holding you tightly before you go
And all along
I never thought that you would go
And now you’re gone
I just wish I had let you know
Warm summer days
BBQ’s in the park
Parties out on the south sand bar
Driving down country roads
Trying to loose my way back home
Thinking about things to come
And looking back on the things we’ve done
And now I know
And I can’t deny
And as I go
I’m finding it so hard not to cry
Lying in my bed tonight
I hear your voice inside my head
And ill think of you
And I ask myself questions…..like
If I saw you
Would you walk right by?
Would you smile at me?
Would I have to hide my teary eyes?
And if I had told you
Would you still be mine?
Or would I still be alone?
Crying myself to sleep at night
Looking in your eyes tonight
Can you see it too?
I finally feel like I’m alive
I’ll hold you close
As the tears start to flow
Give you what you need
And show you what you mean to me
