ENOLA FALL is an indie rock band from Hobart, Tasmania, now residing in Bournemouth in England’s South-west.

Their particular brand of music is best described as indie, or art-rock. Immediately accessible and melodic, the songs have a formidable emotional weight and a haunting strangeness. There is a quality, due in part to the use of unusual rock instruments like accordion, mandolin and pump organ that is heard in only a few modern bands.

The group is currently a three piece centred around singer/guitarist Joe Nuttall, whose voice has been compared to Connor Oberst, The Arcade Fire's Win Butler and MUSE's Mathew Bellamy.

Originally formed in Hobart, Tasmania in 2002, the band played heaps of local shows around the state and toured Australia with a constantly changing line-up. ENOLA FALL is held in high regard for their intense and somewhat emotionally draining live shows. The first CD 'It always comes to this' was a huge local success and the band followed up with live performances on Australia’s national JJJ radio station and performances at the Gone South and Falls festivals.

In November/December 2005 the second ENOLA FALL album, “We Never Sleep” was released in the UK via Gemelo Records / Plastic Head Music Distribution Ltd., in Germany via Gemelo Records / Cargo Records and via Gemelo Records / Century Media Distribution in the remaining European countries while remaining independent in Australia. It received great reviews in various magazines and webzines. Furthermore, the band received regular Airplay on numerous commercial and university radio stations, was featured on the sampler Titus Tunes Vol. 3 and created the perfect soundtrack for the Method Mag Vol. 6.4 DVD.

Promoting the European release of the record, ENOLA FALL played their first, extremely well received shows in the UK and Germany, supporting Turin Brakes, Madsen and Junges Glück amongst others.

Now 2006 is upon us, and ENOLA FALL have relocated to the Bournemouth (UK), after finishing the recording of the upcoming, third studio album “ghostpoems” in their very own studio in Tasmania. The new record is darker, stranger, more intense, melodic and powerful than anything they have previously recorded.

The stats so far:

2 Releases (2002), It Always Comes To This (2003), We Never Sleep (2005)

The first Tasmanian band ever to hit Triple J’s Net 50 (an Australian national radio station)

Playing countless shows in Australia (e.g. sharing stage with Grinspoon, Something for Kate, ) and festivals (Gone South, Falls Festival.)

Live Set for Triple J’s Home and Hosed radio show with producer Chris Thompson (The Waifs, Augie March) at ABC studios and Martin St Studios

Live set for the Mel and Charlie Show on Triple J

The Videos for ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Hope against Hope’ from their latest record got Airplay on ABC’s national video show RAGE

According to the Australian J Mag magazine, ENOLA FALL are amongst the top 10 bands to watch out for this year (Robbie Buck), so expect some new and exciting tunes to hit your MP3 player later this year!

Lyrics
Dissolve Go away. pretend. That these are impossible things and it’s out of your hands. Alone it’s easy to feel. You’re home, you’re home. Flowers. And fireworks. Nightmares. Colliding lives. You don’t want to see you don’t want to hear. Close your eyes. Maybe the whole world will disappear. If you try, dissolve in your eyes dissolve in your mind. If you try, dissolve in your eyes the demons you try to hide. If you try.
