Story behind the song

Divided we fall. Freeking partisan jerks don't seem to get that.
Whichever "SIDE" you believe you are on, I'm talking about YOU!

Find some common ground with your supposed political enemy,
or you are also a big part of the problem, not the solution.

Lyrics

Grind through the day till the sun goes down
Six-o-clock news only brings me down
Hide in a bunker deep under ground
Anything change with the big shutdown

Gotta believe in something big
Complete the story
Setup and playing one more gig
Completely boring

Forty days, nothing gained
Spinning wheels, it seems insane
Turning tides, coming change
Dirty lies, it's still the same

Walking across street today
Feel the sunshine on my face
Guitar in hand I start to play
And in my song I like to say

Gotta believe in something big
Complete the story
Setup and playing one more gig
Completely boring

I guess we'll see what comes our way
Might be better than today
Clock is ticking as days fade
Should we laugh or be afraid
As we turn another page
Escaping from our gilded cage
