Lyrics
Lay Your Weapons Down
Chorus
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay em down
Verse 1
Her father died in war, like millions of her folks,
While politicians in suits hold their summit talks.
Drinking champagne, shaking hands, so they cant feel her fear,
Agree to build a fence, then meet again next year.
We look for superstars on TV stations,
While millions are running from far-off nations.
Hear the cries, hear the cries of those on the way
They may never reach the land where they planned to stay.
Chorus
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay em down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay em down, down, down, down, down
Verse 2
Religions been abused by some fanatic minds,
Too many to blame, it happens on both sides.
An alliance drops its bombs in so-called air defense,
While children starve to death at the border fence.
Theres murder, rape, and terror, people on the run,
Too many hunted down by men with guns.
Those who speak out their minds face a long nightmare,
Of torture, swords, until they dance on air.
Chorus
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay em down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay em down, down, down, down, down
Verse 3
Soldiers storm a town, leave it in dust and flames,
With bright heros eyes, just one death to claim.
A woman on her knees cries out, What have you done?
The man that you just killed he was my only son.
Is this war game the right way to bring the world peace?
To end what we call the worlds greatest disease?
The girl speaks out her mind: This world shall be ours,
Weapons shall be replaced by beautiful flowers.
Bridge
When will there be peace on earth?
I had a dream, a world in peace.
When will there be peace on earth?
I had a dream, a world in peace.
I had a dream, I had a dream
Chorus (outro)
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay em down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay your weapons down
Lay em down, down, down, down, down
