Story behind the song

This is a song about the plight of refugees escaping war, genocide and famine to get to Europe.  It was inspired by Nina Simone's version of "Strange Fruit".  Further details, background and the lyrics to the song can be found at the website www.red-eye.org.uk.

Moroccan fruit hangs from the fence,
It swings in vain, in high suspense,
Golfers play on take no notice,
