Story behind the song
While hunting one cold morning, I watched a rabbit run underneath me stop, back track and leave the area. A few minutes later a bobcat followed the rabbits steps,, but in haste he kept going in the wrong direction. I wonder how many of us do the same kind of things in our everyday lives... Are you Jack,,, or Bob..
Lyrics
The sunshines gone I hear the Red Woodpecker as He's knockin up upon that tree I see my breath I hear every foot step as I walk through the frozen leaves A tree Crack Breaks the silence of the mornin as it crashes solid on the ground A doe runs just a few feet from me As we are startled by that sudden sound. Cold wind is blowin Cold wind blow away Cold wind is blowin The Sunshines gone away Quietly I climb the tree And pull the string that retrieves my gun The mornins Crisp I Bit my Lip As I think about that someone Jack comes stormin in doubles back and then goes back out the other way Here comes Bob he's hot on his trail And he's not just lookin to play Cold wind is blowin The sunshines gone a way Cold wind is blowin I just cant stand this shade Time goes by I gaze at the sky as I come out of the transe I'm in the day lightens up the birds they are singin as the squirrels are comin back again I hear the call of the red woodpecker as he is poundin hard on that limb I wonder if the jack found shelter from the bobcat that was trackin him Cold wind is blowin The sunshines gone a way Cold wind is blowin I just cant stand this shade

Interesting combination of country and jazz, the tagline gets into your head and runs around just like the jack in the song. Good song from my favorite up and coming country sound makers.
