Hello World
Ray-Inspired Indie Pop Track | Hello World by W. Ray Bertram | Stream Free
A Ray Bertram & Wallace Anderson collaborative production.
Just me. Just songs.
I was born with an undiagnosable brain dysfunction, having seizures, and with blue skin dur to oxygen deprivation. I would spend much of my youth on strong, mind-altering medication, I would ultimately end up being declared fully disabled on psychiatric grounds, and I've had to be committed to five different psychiatric facilities in three different states.
These days, the primary thrust of my overall creative efforts is the advocacy work that I seek to do for the mentally ill and the mentally disabled.
These are my songs.

Story behind the song
My youngest son, Johnny Ray Bertram, was born in early 2010. And, as I sat in the waiting room with our families, waiting for the hospital to prepare my wife for Johnny Ray’s C-Section, I took out my Palm Pilot and quickly jotted down the words and the lines to the lyric behind this song…I was amazed by how they seemed to come out and flow together almost totally on their own. Shortly there-after, as I joined my wife and the doctors for the birthing process, and as I got to hold my new son for the very first time…the words and the lines that I’d just written moments earlier all came back to me and I was stricken by how true they all were. We have six children in all and I’m always so amazed by the magic, the love, the joy, the determination, and the potential that they’ve all brought into the world with them. And I was so happy when Wallace Anderson (U.S.A./Kansas) chose to pick up the lyric that I’d tossed together that morning for production…working with Wallace was a truly delightful experience all the way around and I hope to get to work more projects with him in the future. In the mean time - both Wally and I hope that you enjoy this song that we collaborated on.
Lyrics
Hello World
Verse 1
It took nine months
But now I’m done
Hello, world
Here I come
I’ve gotten big
I’ve gotten strong
And I’ve been cooped up
For way too long
Pre-chorus
Hey ev’rybody - make way!
I’m being born?today’s the day!
Chorus:
Hello world, how do you do?
I know that I’m ready for you
I hope you’re ready for me
‘Cause here I am
Yes, I’ve begun
Here I come
Hello, world
Verse 2:
I work real I hard
I make some noise
Lots of pain
Lots of joy
One final push
A little fight
I breath the air and I
See the light
Pre-Chorus:
I feel my mother’s embrace
My father’s near?I touch his face
Chorus:
Hello world, how do you do?
I know that I’m ready for you
I hope you’re ready for me
‘Cause here I am
Yes, I’ve begun
Here I come
Hello, world
Outro:
‘Cause here I am
Yes, I’ve begun
Here I come
Hello, world
