Story behind the song
This song was originally written by Stan Good & composed by Stevie B, "A Song for Joe" for a friend of Stan's who was dying. I felt a strong connection to this song, so I asked Stan and Steve if I could change the story line to my Mum. I then changed the title, as it stood out in the song "We all Walk the same Journey" and Stan and I changed the story lines added in a bridge, and it's now a beautiful song to help my Mum. My Mum is frightened of dying, but theirs nothing wrong with that, I want my Mum to know that we all walk the same journey, and reassure her, will all have that reunion as our time comes along.
I then took this song to my producer Rodney Auld, he then re-wrote the music, and made a few more lyric changes, and then done a guide for me to practice singing the song, Rodney's vocal was so lovely on the song, we decided that it was better Rodney sing the song.
I am the second youngest of eight children, my Mum had nine children, but lost her second child, a little girl, and Mum often spoke of her, of them taking her away in a shoe box:( My Dad is also Deceased.
A big thank you to Stan, Steve & Rodney for all working with me on this song, I love and respect you all so much.
We all hope this song helps many others, going through what Stan's friend Joe and their family went through, and what our family is now going through.
