Jared Banta is an American composer, arranger, and bassist, whose compositions and performances span various categories and genres. Trained primarily in jazz, his compositions for big band have been performed by many jazz ensembles in Boston and Denver. He has also scored several film, radio, and game projects.
In 2005, he was honored with the Wayne Shorter Award by the Jazz Composition Department at Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated in May 2005. His work tends to place emphasis on melody and drama.
