Thanks to a non-stop work ethic and hard hitting melodic rock songs, Vancouver based TOURIST have not had to venture far from home to gain a growing popularity with fans and media alike. Their dynamic live show and local radio presence continue to win over new fans domestically while their overwhelming success on the internet has netted new fans globally.
In early 2004, TOURIST were semi-finalists in the M.E.T.R.O. Search 2004 in New York, and finalists in the Doniryeed Records talent search in Boston. The band’s song Newradio has maintained a top ten spot in the rock category of Garageband.com since May 2004 as well as top 5 placement in numerous other music websites including Besonic and MP3.com. TOURIST are winners of the 2004 99.3 CFOX’s Vancouver Seeds competition where they join alumni such as Nickelback, Default, and Matthew Good. Famous J together with Converse Shoes and Broadjam chose TOURIST’s first single Everytime We Touch to support the release of the 1970 reissue of the Converse classic shoe. Thanks to a strong fan response, the song continues to be in rotation at CFOX, the fourth ranked rock radio station in North America. Everytime We Touch continues to find success and was recently added to the MyGlobalSound.com’s Back to School MX CD which has been distributed to over 8000 Florida college students. Veteran producer/mixer Mike Fraser (Metallica, Slipknot, The Cure, AC/DC) has just completed mixing TOURIST’s forthcoming release at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver. TOURIST are first and foremost a live act and they continue to tour and open up for bands such as The Offspring, Billy Talent, Thornley, Finger Eleven, Clutch and more.
This group of talented and focused musicians combines experience with motivation to continue to drive its collaborative effort forward. Look for TOURIST’s upcoming full length debut release November 2004.

Lead vocalist, Blaine Braun has performed live on Canada’s premier late night show, The Mike Bullard Show, had video play on MuchMusic, and regular radio play across Canada, as well as had his songs placed on movie soundtracks.
Guitarist, Greg Whitbeck brings an extensive background of writing, recording, and touring with his previous band, Morning Maker. They had criss-crossed Canada and portions of the U.S. and had opened for acts such as Nickelback, and Default, as well as receiving regular airplay and strong press coverage.
Mark Radloff played bass in a series of projects, which eventually led to being asked to play a western Canadian tour with Morning Maker in 2002.
Finally, newcomer, Andy Skov, a young guitarist from Portland, Oregon brings a do anything attitude and strong songwriting ability to the band.Have you performed in front of an audience?Tourist is a stadium sized act. We have been fortunate to be able to play arena sized venues, but still play the smaller club circuit at this time.
