Tony Williams is one of the newest smooth jazz guitarist to hit the music scene. However, he's not new at all to the guitar. In church one evening at the age of 11, Tony watched a guitar player play a service all alone and rock the house. It was then that Tony decided that he wanted to learn to play the guitar. After convincing his dad to buy his first guitar, Tony started on the path to learning the complex instrument. Twenty years later, Tony Williams has finally released his first CD to the public entitled, In Motion.
In Motion is a smooth jazz guitar album originally recording in 2005. The tracks were named and recorded based upon events of that time frame. Some songs are upbeat and funky, designed to get your toes tappin, others are slow and mellow, perfect for relaxing at home or riding in your car. Track 10, entitled Allright features Tony's wife Twala Williams on lead vocals. Tracks 2 and 9 feature Kent Collins on bass.
Tony Williams is constantly working on new recordings, the next which will be released soon. So keep on checking back on cdbaby.com for more from this new exciting artist.

My first jazz influence was Joe Pass. His music was what really got me interested in playing the style I play today. My other influences are George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino, Earl Klugh, Norman Brown, Ronny Jordan, Paul Jackson Jr., Larry Carlton, Mundell Lowe, just to name a few..lol.
Ibanez Artcore Semi-Hollow and Marshall Half Stack.
