TomSter
TomSter is a one-man-band. Of course, I'll have friends helping out with certain things, seeing as they know how to play drums or guitar better for example. But

One man band from Helsinki, Finland. I play whatever I want, whenever I want. So my genre of music is best described as either Experimental or Progressive. But screw genres, they don't really mean much to me. I just want to make music that expresses how I feel, and then share that with people.Band/artist history
I started off my quest for making music in December 2007 when I formed the band "3rd Degree Trauma" with my friends and cousin. We immediately stormed off to make a few own songs and enter in 2008's installation of Ääni & Vimma. 3rd Degree Trauma then changed practice places and we started to slow down our pace -unfortunately. This brought the complete death of 3rd Degree Trauma, without words spoken, it just ceased to exist as the band members parted ways and moved on to other things...
Meanwhile, I had put together another band for a school diploma, consisting of two of my classmates, me and my cousin (who also played the drums for 3rd Degree Trauma). The band is still without a name, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a lot of material being thrown around. Where 3rd Degree Trauma was more of an old-school trash metal band, this new band hasn't really dubbed themselves anything yet (not wanting to be restricted by genres and such), but the over-all feel is very progressive/ambienty. The band draws their inspiration from all over, but some of the biggest influences are Dream Theater; Devin Townsend; Oh, Sleeper; Sigur Rós and many more. Due to the hectic studies for school and other things, the band has slowed down its pace and remains to be just another project while my solo project "TomSter" becomes my main project. But fear not, this Untitled Band will continue it's songwriting, but without a set deadline now and with more time to be creative. Giving more time to make the best music these young lads can come up with. We all wait in anticipation for what is to come from this, it should be great.
On top of both band projects and schoolwork, I also write my own stuff. As TomSter, I goes in to take a closer look at everything that I haven't done yet, and keep pushing the walls outward. All of this material is completely different from both bands, taking a closer look into my over-all musical interest and diversity. Each song will be different from one another, this can be heard on the debut EP "THE TWO SIDES OF A COIN", where I delve into the different aspects of a person's innerself. There is beauty, there is anger, there is hope for something better. This grants a chance to have variety over what is to come -but my clearly METAL roots can't be contained forever. My old habits earned from my metal enthusiasm is evident, but none the less it is far more poppier that usual. All-in-all, things are great and there are high hopes of some great hits, so keep your eyes, ears and mind open.
The very first EP from TomSter "The Two Sides Of A Coin" is now on sale. And will be followed by the deluxe edition soon. And remember: LIFE IS SHORT, SO SHRED WITH CARE!Have you performed in front of an audience?Haven't been able to play live for a while, wish we could again, but we're all so busy. I love performing for a crowd, or even some friends. It gives me just the kick I need to feel completely alive, doing what I love, music. Special moments? Probably our first gig with 3rd Degree Trauma at the Ääni & Vimma in 2008.
