Tom Messink

Hello, Tom Messink here. I hope you find something here you enjoy!!

I was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. I played in high school for anyone who would stand still long enough to listen. I played in a Christain band in College called Sonquest with some of the most gifted musicians I have ever met. We played mostly original music. I have played off and on through the years since then. My wife Maureen and I raised our 2 boys in a town just outside of Detroit called Novi. We currently reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I play open mics in Grand Rapids and entered a song into Artprize 2013

From a popluar artist perspective, it would have to be guys like James Taylor and Jackson Browne, oh and Jimmy Buffett. Guys I played with in college, Mike Henry, Paul Henry, (not related) were incredible influences and were very encouraging. Mark Radeke, my wife's brother has also been a great influence and encouragement. Lately, it has been artists like Peter Mulvey, David Wilcox, and Martyn Joseph and some local talent, Ralston Bowles and Drew Nelson to name a few.

I play a Martin OOO-15 and a Concert style Breedlove. I record using Sonar 8.

I want to thank my wife Maureen for her patience and encouragement. She is my inspiration and my best friend. When I grow up I want to be just like her.
