Toe'd Up
The band Toe'd up consists of vocalist Andrea McKinnon, guitarist Angus McKinnon and guitarist Stuart Marshall, Dale Muir bass, Martin Cassidy drums! We are a Scottish rock band with loud guitars and strong vocals!!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We have been working together for almost 5 years off and on. We all met at college in 1999 and have been making music ever since. We started off as a cover band called Bluesqueeker only playing the odd original song but after college had finished we decided to really focus and work hard on writing our own material. We all have been in the music scene for a long time before meeting. Vocalist Andrea actually comes from America and has been singing for many years prior to moving to the U.K... Guitarist Angus has played guitar since he was 15 first training as a classical guitar player before turning to modern music. Guitarist Stuart has also played guitar for many years and has been involved in other bands throughout the years. We love being creative and going through the whole process of writing and recording and we try very hard to write songs that would appeal to a wide variety of people! This demo was recorded in the living room on a home Pc so it isnt the best recording but we have worked very hard on the song and hope that listeners would listen to it and regonise our potental! We describe our music as rock! We really dont like putting a label on what kind of music we play because every song is different depending on what kind of mood we were in at the time we wrote it. But as a general term we just say rock! Not too heavy and not too soft! We hope one day we will be a successful band making albums!

Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes all the time!! haha! Hmmm a special moment...well once in Glasgow a cymbal stand fell on my head! lol
Your musical influences
Well we have tons of influences from Led Zepplin to Nikka Costa! One of our main influences is the whole grunge sound! Bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots! We are also a great fan of Guns and Roses! We like music that has loud guitar and vocals that really show emotion! We are loving Velvet Revolver at the moment!! We also like the darker side Nine Inch Nails is a big favorite and a little of rap and rock like Rage Against the Machine! The Black Crowes are the number one favorites though! Everythinig about them rocks!!!We also like A Perfect Circle!
