Tightest
Since age 11 or 12 I recall twisting words with rhymes naturally. For example if someone asked me why my room was a clutter I'd say what you said you need some cocoa butter? It got on somes nerves and I guess they saw me as a wise guy but that was the birth of my delivering snappy lyrics.
Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it...Band/artist history
Through my research I understand that you have collabed with B2K, Kayne West, Lil John, Twista, Jadakiss and legendary pop icon Michael Jackson.
Yes I have been blessed. Like I said earlier I collabed with Michael Jackson on Shaq’s project. I collabed with Jadakiss for the track “Mob Life.” With Kayne West on “My Hood” and “I’m Still Standing” which will be on my next album entitled Wrong Side of The Tracks? I also collabed with female rapper Jay Fox from MTV’s the Real World.
What’s With The International Scene? I read that you are getting airplay in Japan, Canada, Europe and now Bermuda...
I do know that there was a #1 song in Europe, called “Policy” that I did with Ace from Public Announcement. I also did something with Natris G and Twista, “Me and My Guys” which is receiving overseas play.
What songs receive the most airplay and how is the feedback? I understand that one of your singles out requested Nelly and Kelly Rowlands Dilemma.
Booty was #1 for a straight 30 days. It received 11,000 spins on one radio station alone, that being Power 92. I was a different felling to go out and hear little kids talking about booty. I felt like man I write about deeper stuff than that but I knew that the song was a dance song so it would probably make it.
So Pocahontas from P.Diddy’s Making The Band stated on MTV’s TRL that you were one of the greatest rappers out there. What’s your response to a shout out like that?
I had collabed with her in Atlanta on the song “When I See It In Your Eyes” and to hear her say that on TRL made me feel appreciated and respected. A lot of people will give you props in your face but to say something like that when I wasn’t even in her presence. She had no reason to say that other than that she believes in me too.
So you opened for Juvenile, Bow Wow, Petey Pablo and Bones Thugs N Harmony. What was that like and how did the audience react to you?
I actually headlined with Petey Pablo. I feel that I bring energy to the set up. Most times there are other acts that open first and than I’m scheduled by the promoters right before the main act.
You Do A Lot of Charity Work. What’s Your Reason?
I look at people’s situations and I know that I’m in a better position to assist them. People do listen to me. When the tornado ripped through the city we raised 550 pounds of food just through public service announcements. I will always do charity work for free. This is something that I am proud of.Have you performed in front of an audience?During a show I had my man little man come up and perform a song called Policy with me. I think he must have been four years old at the time. I can still hear him on the mike.
Your musical influences
Biggie Smalls was such a lyrical icon. R &B artists such as Boyz 11 Men, Brian Mcknight, Cocoa of SWV and several others. R&B with the singing over the hip hop flow was a major influence. What equipment do you use?
Protools, autotunes, garage bandAnything else?
When you hear the statement "money rules the world" and people that you thought you knew switch up and sell ya for the dollar or a contact. Well that is "when You must ask yourself what is your soul worth?" Without integrity life is a bottomless pit.Admin
