Thumb Buddy is a alternative rock band out of Cedar Falls IA, sometimes a little heavy and sometimes a little pop. Members include Tim Van Wert on bass and vocals, Elvin Johnson on lead guitar and vocals, and Jom Van Gelder on drums.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Thumb Buddy was conceived in 1998 in a machine shed outside of Cedar Falls, Iowa. We have just finished our CD,"Forty Pounds Of Sound" recorded by Tom Tatman at Catamount Recording in Cedar Falls. Our sound is alternative with a heavier feel (Tatman calls it "Power Pop").
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live any time and anyplace we can. Some of the places we play include The Reverb (Cedar Falls), The Federal Pub (Hudson),Mother Nature's Ball, and The House of Bricks (Des Moines).
