Thomas McPartland (IRL)
Its just me, and sometimes with Martin Tierney from Bobo on lead guitar.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Thomas McPartland is a Galway-based singer songwriter who has been writing for nearly four years now. Since leaving the band Torn, he has ventured down his own musical path. Highlights have included playing in Auxerrasmus in France, having tracks incuded on a compilation album of Northwest artists and playing venues such as The Roisin Dubh, The Quays and DeBurgos in Galway and various other gigs in Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon. He has also shared a stage with artists such as Dervish, Tucan, Bobo, Colin Devaney, Philip Cassidy and the 21 Outs.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, around the West and Northwest of Ireland, mostly based in Galway though. I've played Roisin Dubh and The Quays, but its the gigs in DeBurgos that I enjoy the most. I've also played in Auxerrasmus in Auxerre, which was the biggest highlight so far.
Your musical influences
My main inflences are the Beatles, Radiohead, Damien Rice and Rufus Wainwright, but the band I most admire and would cite as my biggest inflence are The Guggenheim Grotto. A truly mesmerising Irish band!
What equipment do you use?
Ovation guitars, Shure mics, Sony MD's and free pens!
Anything else?
Thanks for reading, and please, tell me what you think of the songs.
