Thin Air
We are Thin Air a 5 piece band from Knaresborough North Yorkshire in England we've been together for two years playing alternative metal songs.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
there are five of us Joey on bass and Matt the singer/lead guitarist were in another band called Korrupted that grasped 15 minutes of fame on the BBC in another band when they were 13 they then split from Korrupted and formed a band with friends who played guitar: Tony and Mark then spotted our drummer James and it started there. We also had a lead guitarist who we recently lost called Danny who's Tony's brother so he was the connection between the friends really. We played our first gig when we were 15/16 and it all started there
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
yeah we usually play in Knaresborough, Harrogate and York but have been known to travel to other places for special events we had a great time at a Biker's rally in pately bridge this year and last and we've been asked to play again this year the atmosphere is awesome.
Your musical influences
we're a mixture of metal/funk sounds with chromatic melodies. influences are hard to say as we have quite a different style in every song we play
What equipment do you use?
nothing fancy just your average guitars, pedals, and amps we're quite poor lol but that doesn't stop us having a great time when we play
