The Wicksta is the stage name of David Cortez (May 13, 1975 ), a recording engineer, recording artist, producer, and promoter.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I've played live since my first rap coalition, a group called "Roundtable MCs", formed in 1996
We played together live throughout the U.S., mostly in Cali all the way up to 2001
Since then I've had features here and there, mostly been in the shadows though.
A special moment as far as performing goes, was a park gig we had where i got so tore up I doubt if I actually remembered any of my lirics, but still we wrecked, I think I freestyled the whole show!
Your musical influences
I guess at the end of the day any song I have ever heard has influenced me in some way, and I've listened to such a wide variety of music..
What equipment do you use?
I'm definitely a freek of the industry when it comes to that, I'm more based in the Software end of things , but I like to take things apart and make unique mics and things like that.
