The Whole Sum
The Whole Sum is a father-son team, from Milwaukie, Oregon. The father, David, plays acoustic guitar, keyboards, and does all the vocals. Michael, the son, is the dynamo on electric guitar. At seventeen, he's got quite a future ahead of him. David and Michael both contribute equally to the songwriting, each bringing his own unique influence to the final product.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We've spent most of our time in rehearsal and recording. Haven't really performed any gigs. Michael's tender age limits our performance venues.
Your musical influences
For David:The Beatles(of course), Eagles, Cat Stevens, Jethro Tull, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Mozart, to name a few. For Michael: Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, The Scorpions, and the Neoclassical sound in general.
