The Whackouts are a 4 piece group from south central Edmonton.
Lucky Azuka .......... Bass / vocals
Jarod Munk .... ... Drums / vocals
Miko.......................Keyboards / vocals
David Axis ........... .Vocals / Guitar / Harmonica
We try to present our tunes in a format that is "hookish ,crunchy ,contemporary ,radio friendly,
exuberant ,dynamic, danceable and fun. however that said , THE WHACKOUTS furthermore
endeavor to give the listener something to ponder that "could" be relevant to their own
existence. We write about the streets, because the streets are where we are from. We have lost
many good friends over the years and accordingly we endeavor to keep the music as a
reflection of the streets that we are from .Both as redemption ( for us )and our own modest way
to honor the memory of the fallen . " Part of the job" was written
when our friend ended up in the slammer
"the life" it is part of the job
deskription."Shapes"is about the Various geometric
expressions in the lexicon of hyperbole. What can I say about †THE SNOWMAN†? I suppose
every town has various shades of this life form
"PULP" is a slice of life from what could best be described as a Tarintino(esque) state of mind.
"Letters I’ll write" is a low rider main street Saturday night anthem.Band/artist history
This is another one of David Axis projects that barely made it out of the basement. The disappearance of original drummer Scott Lavey and David Axis having his thumb chopped off in a gambling accident were contributing factors in the demise of this band. The tunes were played live a couple times in 06 and 07 with various incarnations of the David Axis Gruppe! Although David Axis usually writes much heavier music "David Axis Tribal Garage "still has "Pulp" on the set list.Have you performed in front of an audience?yes. underground speakeasy's, after hours clubs ,and private parties for our friends and family.
Your musical influences
Murder inc. ,Bonnie and Clyde ,Brahm Stokker
baron Von Richthofen, john Dillinger,John Gotti and Pulp is dedicated to Sammy Gravano. Alister Crowley .What equipment do you use?
lucky likes to emit super low frequency(10 cycles)pulses using a dish like device to aim and fire.
Miko uses a piano wire and Jarvok likes sharp sticks while David cuts heads.haunteddave's station

I'm new to Soundclicks - just surfing through the various music charts. You guys have a great sound. I don't know if you've ever heard of a mid-80's band called Naked Prey - I think they were from Arizona - they had a great guitar-driven roots rock sound, and you guys sound similar. I really enjoyed the tunes, and will listen again to them on my headphones when I get a chance. Good luck. Let me know if you get any gigs down Calgary way - I'd love to hear you live.
