The Waiting brings you a most typical blend of genres, therefore we have no idea what we are.

Band/artist history

The Waiting began in late spring of 2005, when Andy Ferris and Josh Weidemann were introduced through a mutual friend, our hero of the story Coco. From there, they traveled across vast deserts to the land of Josh Weidemann, in hopes of achieving a fun and glorious band practice. (Groupies present.) With Coco on drums, it was quite the catastrophe, but after 5 minutes behind the skins, was booted. Enter Austin Helgeson.

Austin had been a friend of Josh's for quite sometime, and had randomly appeared at this "practice." With him at drums, Andy's ears were blown, and sure thing, Austin was in.

Time follows, and within the first three weeks, the band was playing their first show at a battle of the bands. They lost of course, but they left half of the opposing bands in the dust, nevertheless.

That summer, the band's adventures continued in that little town of Washburn. By the middle of June, they added Ali McDuffee on guitar, but by their last show, their friend Shawn Hoffman was filling in. Many bars, emo teen hangouts, and skate parks later, Andy called it quits all too soon, in mid-August. The band in all reality, really accomplished nothing, with only 9 shows under their belt in less than a 2 month span, and no recording to show for it. A mere $90 was earned.

That fall, they all screwed around and wasted time with things less important to the cause of The Waiting. Andy tried doing his solo acoustic shows yet again, Austin briefly joined Brother John, and Josh was Josh. By the end of October, they knew their calling lie in The Waiting, yet again. Only problem was Austin was slave to a hockey team, so with the exclusion of random unexpected practices the band got nothing done yet again, one song recorded on a computer was the only thing to show for it.

The band has now entered a new stage. They are working on new material, raising money for pro recordings, and have some shows lined-up, not to mention the lovely merch. Stay tuned, the waiting, for The Waiting, has almost passed.

Have you performed in front of an audience?

We play mostly locally, and of course we enjoy it,when the crowd is good and enthused. A special moment being the time, Josh's amp exploded and a thousand black ravens came out and attacked the crowd. Man, did we owe them some money.

Our music should speak for ourselves. I really have no idea who you could compare us to, but give it a shot.
