the Voodoo Dollies

The Voodoo Dollies are a 3 piece all-girl, pop-punk group from Niagara Falls, New York. They are known for irreverent and animated live shows. If you're into having fun, and into girls rocking out on stage, then you'll love us...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Created by a brilliant and beautiful scientist, the Voodoo Dollies came into existence in April 2002. The girls are the result of an experiment gone awry! Sugar, spice, and everything nice, that's what little girls are made of; add a drop of accidentally spilled CHEMICAL XXX, and all hell is about to break loose! These are very, very BAD little girls! Swilling whiskey, staying out late with bad boys, playing LOUD rock 'n' roll music, and wreaking havoc on the once quiet city of Dolliewood! Watch out world!!! Jai, Jena, and Carina Dollie are here..... and they are taking over! Oh yeah, their creator has given up science, learned to hula hoop, and now goes by the name Lynn Hula Dollie. The Dollies are now releasing their first full length cd ?10 S*T*D?s? (10 Shitty Titty Ditties). This cd contains 10 songs of all girl anarchy at it?s best. With honest lyrics, harsh guitar playing, consistent - steady bass and drums, the Voodoo Dollies keep it simple, but catchy. Their shows are lively and eye catching. The Dollies give you a show, something that has seemed to become lost is these recent years. They?ve shared the stage with many local, regional and national acts, including; M.S.I, The Headstones, 2 Skinnee J?s, and The Trews. With the release of ?10 S*T*D?s, the Voodoo Dollies are confident that they will win over new audiences, and if not, oh well, then they can go see somebody else. Maybe they?ll like them better! If you want to have fun, come see the Voodoo Dollies. If you don't, stay home. They are girls, and it's all about the rock!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live just about every weekend. Mostly in the Buffalo, New York area. Special moments... When Hugh Dillon from the Headstones jumped on stage with us.... and the Mindless Self Indulgence show, there were so many kids there, it was fun.
Your musical influences
We've been compared to 'Josie and the Pussycats on acid', 'Hole meets Laugh-In'. We all listen to different music, Carina's into Nu-Metal/Classic Rock, Jena is an 80's hairband fan (bands like Faster Pussycat, Poison), and Jai likes Hole the Sex Pistols and the Ramones.
