The Unknowns
The Unknowns, originated from Yakima, WA.
One of the founding members & bassist of the group is currently seeking new members, and to re-form The Unknowns.
To be based out of the Seattle area. And playing what I call "The California Sound".
Influenced by the early 60's surf-craze. Playing, classic and current hot energizing surf instrumentals, as well as some well-picked classic rock.
The bassist of The Unknowns is a currant member of "The Surf Rider Foundation" and has been on a surfboard, but won't be trying out for the "Pipeline Classic" anytime soon.

The group actually came together in 1978, as drummers in high school.
The band started forming in 1979, when two of the members started taking a guitar class in school.
After a couple years of playing Top 40 and classic rock, The Unknowns played one final gig in 1982, and then broke up. Two went in to the United States Army, and the others moved on.
One went to Lake Tahoe, and the other to Boise, Idaho.
In 1985, two of the original members along with an old school mate and close friend (Russ Chapman on drums) got together.
This line-up played together on & off for a few years along with friends. 1988 they went in to Star TrakStudios in Shoreline, WA. To lay down a few tracks as The Unknowns.
Gary Hoskins, original bass player and one of the founding members of The Unknowns, now lives in the Seattle area. For fun he likes to fill in with other NW bands. While working in radio as a Seattle disc jockey,in 1994 (along with fellow dj's)he helped form "The Slightly Smashed Pumpkins". In 2002, he helped form up a local group "The Nadz".
The Nadz - recorded a CD [Peach Fuzz] at "Electro Kitty Studios" that same year.
In 2004 "The Slightly Smashed Pumpkins" re-united.
With many of us now working different gigs, we are primarily a Halloween party band.
Gary - is in search of his holy grail in music.
Following his fondness of the early 60's west coast sound. He is looking to re-form "The Unknowns", as a HOT driving surf band. If you would like to be part of a group, that is looking to bring back the fun of the sun, sand & surf all year round.
