The Underdogs (US)
We're here to keep the city from breakin' down,
Demons hit the road the Underdogs are out...
out of control, the challenge on --
We ride like Fonzi from a Comic Con.
Calling out squadcars join the fight,
It's an army of darkness challenged by the light,
So say your prayers, we'll say ours too,
Except it's what we live for and what we wanna do.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Underdogs began around the beginning of May 2005. Since then we have been unleashing much of what we consider to be music we like. We've been described as "raw" which I thought was really cool. I guess you'd really have to decide for yourself. We are a Christian band who is always wanting to play, and Frank has some of the most veiny arms you've ever seen. Mine are sort of too, but you know Frank's veins are like rivers to my inlets, and he bears a strong resemblance to Bruce Lee. Anyway, the band...right...did you know that we have a scarecrow?
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We like the thought of playing wherever kids will get into the music.
Your musical influences
We all appreciate bands like MxPx, Relient K, and Cheap Trick...other influences, perhaps individually shared are bands like Goldfinger, The Offspring, Suicide Machines, Operation Ivy, Rancid, old school rock n' roll type stuff, Descendents, Roper, Mustard Plug, The Vandals, Less Than Jake, Kittens, Agent Orange, Guttermouth, oh peach cobbler, The Aquabats, Millencoliln, Nofx, and Emerett and Nikolai (as we are 2/3 of it)
Anything else?
We strive to jam punk rock and alternative famboozle into a system of songs declaring statements about our life as Christians and views of a non-Christian world. God will provide, but you must trust in Him. Do want to rule the world and lose your soul? Well, to me that sounds like you're living like a dominoe.
We also sing about wacky things like dads with dreadlocks and double chins.
