The Uldras
The Uldras are no longer a band. The group collapsed in mid-September 2002. Thank you so much to anyone who supported us and came to see us play. We appreciate all of you more than you could ever realize.

The latest 4-song recording: "Sunspot", "Love, Not War", "North Face", and "Virgo Baby". All of the above are now posted at this site as MP3's. We also distribute free copies of this recording to interested parties at our shows.
The Uldras rock the San Francisco bay area as self-conscious stalwarts. We live underground and only emerge occasionally to subdue large animals. Jesse Micek is one of the four sometimes-fearless leaders of this quartet. He is typing the words you are reading. He took a typing class in junior high; thus typing is no challenge whatsoever. Go ahead -- be jealous.

EX: Jeff Ortega broke his bass drum during our set @ The Usual in San Jose on 7/17/02, forcing us to halt our set 3 songs early. Curses!!
EX: Jesse Micek broke a bass guitar string 2 songs into The Uldras rip-roaring 8/9/02 set @ Holiday Bowl in Hayward. This is not the first time Jesse's biceps have wreaked havoc on a bass guitar.Anything else?

(I'm assuming this is Dave Hall posting here...if it is, then long time no talk, homeboy). I don't feel like talking trash here on this message board. In short, the dissolution of the rock band The Uldras was mainly due to poor communication among band members. Here's where I could point fingers, but that seems utterly silly and pointless. I think each of us had feelings hurt by each other in various ways. Perhaps we needed to split in order to heal. I dunno. I'm still frustrated about the break-up a month after the fact. I dunno what else to say. I'm hopeful that someday I can link myself to another equally talented group of musicians. Despite our differences, I will never hesitate to praise the awesome talents of Jason, Jeff, and Ian. We had a good run. etc. etc. I wish it could have lasted longer and ended only after bearing much greater fruit.
