Hi my name is Dan Turner and welcome to my solo project TheTurnerBurner. As many of you know I play lead/rhythm guitar in a metal band called Dark Embrace. However this page was desgined specifically to introduce my acoustic/ambient/experimental material to the world. Enjoy!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
This is an evolving musical/artistic project which casually began a couple of years ago. Once I acquired a Fostex MR-8 HD Multitrack Recorder as well as the Sonic Foundry Acid program, I found a means to express a musical side of me that really can't be expressed anywhere else. Not long afterwards I began experimenting with ambient guitar, sound effects, spoken word poetry, hand drumming, chanting, and sampling. Also I have a backlog of acoustic guitar/vocal oriented material that I am in the process of recording. These recordings are coming to shape and I plan to release this material (at this time) independently later on this year. It has long been a dream of mine to have a venue to put not only music up but artwork, photography and poetry as well and it is now becoming reality!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play live with my band Dark Embrace. However I do not perform any of this material live. But if a demand arises then maybe I'll arrange something...
