Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Trio Grande is a Canadian, Vancouver Island-based country band. Recently released debut album titled "Am I Still In Your Heart." Also, nominated by BCCMA - British Columbia Country Music Association - for the Gaylord Wood Memorial Award: Best Traditional Country.
Lead singer and bassist Henri Crevier, has been performing country music for over thirty-five years. He's worked with the recording act The Family Brown, as well as appearances on The Tommy Hunter Show and Ronnie Prophet's "Sun Country", and opened for such acts as Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Charlie Pride and Waylon Jennings. A longtime member of such acts as Appaloosa and the Marlaine Sisters, Henri has been nominated twice for Male Vocalist of the Year and once as Bass Player of the Year by the BC Country Music Association.
Guitarist Alan Medcalf has performed with Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Patricia Conroy, Freddy Fender, Lucille Starr, and Valdy. A past president of the BC Country Music Association and former director of the Pacific Music Industry Association, Al has opened for such country music greats as George Strait, John Anderson, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Ian Tyson. Alan has produced several country music recordings and was nominated for Producer of the Year by the BC Country Music Association.
Trio Grandé's drummer Pat Hetu has been playing country music for over 25 years. He has appeared on CBC's "Country Beat" and was seen on CMT in two videos with recording artist Gerry King. Pat has opened for Canadian country artists Gene Watson, Prairie Oyster and Lace, and has worked with rockabilly legend Buddy Knox. Pat has also performed with the rock band Tight Squeeze, opening for such acts as Loverboy, Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, Harlequin and Jerry Doucette.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, mainly Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We play 'gigs' such as fairs,rodeo's,special events, and a selected few 'Honky Tonks' on the island.
