Band/artist history
The Transmission were born in Rugby in June ‘05 under an industrial dust cloud, crumbling architecture and the roar of engines from where the M6 joins the M1.
Factories go up faster than houses in this hub of commerce and public school pomp and ceremony.
We are from the places you don’t hear about. The dark terraces repossessed and boarded up. As a town rises some have to fall by the wayside to make way. So every chord, synth melody and every word we sing are for those who have been eaten up and spat back out by the system.
Inspired by the darkness of Joy Divison, the melody of Depeche and all round brilliance of New Order, The Transmission talk of love, loss, despair, age, work and a hope that something better can come from honest graft, but it must be for yourself and not for the hands that feed.
These tracks were written, performed, recorded and produced at our home studio to the sound of the passing trains shaking its foundations. We prove that the have-nots of this world can still produce edgy, emotive pop as our influences did before us.Have you performed in front of an audience?First gigs soon
