Over the years as a mixtape distributor, J.R. has cultivated strong relationships with local store owners in Connecticut and Massachusetts, along with several retail shops in Rhode Island, New Jersey and New York. These relationships have proved to be extremely helpful in getting product into the hands of an interested audience, and are crucial to building a fan-base and making an imprint. Supplementing this regional distribution net will be digital distribution online through Myspace, CD Baby, along with iTunes, Sound Click, and One Stop Distribution. All in all their will be 1,000 copies of Bullyin’ the Streets Volume 5 that will be pressed and distributed, with the potential for more. Each CD will be professionally manufactured and suitable for traditional retail store distribution, complete with bar coding, non-slim jewel cases, and shrink wrapping.
There are currently 10,000 copies of previous Bullyin’ the Street compilations in circulation. With an expanded distribution network and self-promotion through radio, flyers and posters, the goal is to raise this number to 12,000. Everyone in the music industry knows how hard it is to get people interested in hearing new artists, especially in a market as flooded as Hip-Hop, but as Bullyin’ the streets continues to be a positive outlet for marketing unsigned artists, they aim to make this much easier for you.
Artist in the following genres may submit to Bullyin’ the Streets Volume 5: Hip-Hop, Crunk, Crump, Dirty South, East Coast, Mid-West, West Coast, and Underground. Submit as many songs as you like, but please not that no more than 2 songs per artist will be selected to appear on the final mix. Each participant will receive 2 free copies of the CD, and 200 UV coated postcard flyers to help out in your own individual promotion campaign. Please note: There is a $100 fee per track to be included on the CD to help cover production, manufacturing, and promotional costs.

We will make it very clear to artist that they are not to put Bullyin’ the Streets material on their album with out purchasing a lease for your production company directly.
