The Southpaw Jinx
The Southpaw Jinx are a Plymouth-based, balls-out rock band with a modern, dirty, low-end sound.
The band are a three-piece outfit made up of powerful vocalist and riff-meister Neil Sims, 5-string bass groover Chris Newman and hard-hitting Neil Harwood on drums.
They have been through a few line-up changes in the three years they have been performing but have now clicked into the powerful trio that plays together under The Southpaw Jinx banner. The slim-lining of the band has allowed tighter focus on the individual roles within the band to produce a more dynamic sound overall.
Despite the English-based members and the English influences such as Black Sabbath, the band’s sound is strongly based in influences emanating from many American rock and metal bands, with comparisons often made to such acts as Metallica, Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, Alice In Chains and Kyuss.
