Band/artist history
The Sins formed in 2001 as a post-punk entity, inspired by British dark pop acts like the Sisters of Mercy and the Mission U.K., as well as American rock legends such as The Doors. While hit with a series of unavoidable lineup changes, ominous frontman Nightmare Boy and his Sins still managed to play a staggering number of live Pacific Northwest shows their first 2 years, sharing the stage with popular dark rock bands such as Gossamer and members of the legendary Kommunity FK (and also struck fear into the hearts of country pub and sports bar patrons whenever possible). Audiences from all walks of life have been captivated by The Sins' dynamic, energetic stage presence and their vigorous (and often over-the-top) showmanship. Since the latter part of 2002, with a debut release ("The Beginning") under their belt and a newly solidified lineup, including guitar marvel Lee Tillman (of Radio Star and Abney Park) and classically trained electric violinist Jyri Glynn (of 3SKS and Genowen fame), The Sins began to command the attention of more than just the local club goers. Often compared by reviewers to influential goth-rock acts such as Fields of the Nephilim (particularly for Kris Kilian's stunning drum work) and Kommunity FK, The Sins in a few short months managed to secure favorable mention of their impressive debut CD by New York Waste Magazine, Legends Magazine, Meltdown Magazine (UK), StarVox Music Zine and goth/punk writer and photographer Mick Mercer, just to name a few. Additional glowing print reviews appeared more recently in Gothic Beauty Magazine and in
