The Seeker is a recording project by independent artists Daryl Ropp and Joe Purrenhage. The project is used as an outlet for the many songs being written by the pair of musicians. The music presented by this recording project can range from melodic pop ballads to hard rock jams as well as some psychadelic things that are hard to classify. The project also has a positive image and approach to music that can be heard in both the music and the lyric content focusing on artistic creativity and its positive aspect on humanity.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Seeker started in the year 1999 as a way to organize and present the many songs being written and recorded outside other "bands" by independent artists Daryl Ropp and Joe Purrenhage. The two first met in the high energy rock band and they continued to create music together after the band disolved in 1996. They have also been involved in the and currently play together in the . Daryl Ropp is the primary writing force with nearly 200 songs written to date, a huge backlog of songs to be recorded awaits the project. Daryl plays bass, guitar, drum programming, vocals and production. Joe Purrenhage writes an occasional tune and helps out with rhythm guitar, keyboards, drums and percussion. Joe also engineers some of the songs that are recorded at Online Bands Studio.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
While The Seeker is primarily a recording project, there are occasional performances in the Detroit area.

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Phish, XTC, Adrian Belew, and a number of other classic and modern rock artists.
